July 2008 Garden Calendar What's coming up in August

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
1  It’s summer. We have what you need to
entertain outside: stylish furniture for
relaxing or dining; gorgeous pots overflowing with brilliant color; plus linens for outdoors,  dinnerware, drinkware, firepits, lanterns and candles to set the perfect mood.

2  Create floral fireworks on your deck or entryway with a collection of red, white and blue pots and flowering annuals.

We have festive lanterns and candle holders, dishtowels, tableware and décor for your 4th of July party or gift-giving.       5  Bring out of town guests in to explore the history of
Bainbridge Gardens. Ask for a brochure or info.

6  Keep the mosquitoes away with citronella candles. We have classic pillars,  votives and tealights of course,  plus pre-filled ceramic pots and garden torches.

9  Check birdbaths daily for clean, fresh water.  Safe Bt dunks keep away mosquitoes.

10  We have tickets for the 20th Annual Bainbridge In Bloom Garden Tour,
July 12 & 13.
11  Bainbridge Gardens is  pleased to sponsor the guest lecturer at Bainbridge In Bloom: TV and Radio Garden Expert Ciscoe Morris on Sunday, July 13.

13   Whitney Farms Weed Whompin’ Mulch helps keep weed seeds from sprouting.

15  Use Soil Soup to perk up hanging baskets & containers as well as lawns, beds and borders.

17  On Saturday, July 19th, we welcome world renown chef and Island resident Greg Atkinson, who will be preparing a menu he has designed exclusively for our event.  For free tickets, see the back page.

21  Watering well is
critical during the hot months. Soaker hoses
help keep soil
moist without waste.

23
Wondering what’s wrong?  We have safe, green solutions for your garden.

25 Our Sizzling Summer Sale starts July 25th.  Clearance prices on selected home and garden furnishings and gifts. 26  Do your
containers look like they need a little something?
We can help.
27 Go green!  We have 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable dog waste and leaf waste bags.  Just ask.               29  Countertop kitchen compost bins now are available in handsome ceramic or bamboo  finishes. On Sunday, August 17, please join us as the Bainbridge Island Historical Society honors the history of the Island Center community through an event called “Snapshots of Island Center.”  This old-fashioned social will  feature the photographs, stories and memories shared by past and present Island Center families.
Refreshments will be served. See the back page for more details.
