IT'S THE POLLINATOR PARADISE WEEKEND!
This weekend we are celebrating our good friends, the pollinators. Whether it's bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, moths, or other creatures, pollinators are vital in giving us beautiful flowers and delicious food. It's easy to overlook the pollinators in your yard, but they are there, busily seeking sweet nectar and carrying pollen around from plant to plant.
Pollinator Paradise Weekend Checklist (July 19 & 20):
- Pick up your live caterpillars to grow a butterfly! - Live caterpillars are here. For $15 you get two Painted Lady caterpillars, a habitat, activity book, and instruction. Over three weeks you'll experience the amazing transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly! Call to reserve your caterpillars, as supplies are limited.
- Attend Charles Schafer's Class - Sunday at 1pm - The always entertaining Charles Schafer will be here to talk pollinators. Charles, of course, if you've been to the Farmer's Market, loves his bees, but he is also wealth of knowledge about other pollinators!
- Create a Tabletop Garden Pollinator Style - Our monthly Tabletop Garden Workshop is pollinator-related this month. Choose a pot, some seasonal flowers and foliage, and we'll help you plant it here. We'll provide the tools and soil. Bring your gloves. Most tabletop gardens cost around $30-50, depending on the materials used.
- Buy one of our designer pots of pollinator loving plants - No time to plant your own or just want to pick up a spot of seasonal color? Come on in and check out our selection. We can also plant one for you if you'd like.
- Pick up some freebies - We have some stickers for the kids and free pollinator related seeds for bigger folks!
